Set up

• Mac. Download Yakity-yak for Mac, move it to Applications and open it. Its setup asks for Accessibility (so it can paste) and Local Network (so your iPhone can find it), then shows a pairing code.
• iPhone. Install Yakity-yak from the App Store, open it and scan the Mac's pairing code. You can also type the code. Allow Microphone and Speech Recognition when asked.
• Talk. Put your cursor in any text field on the Mac, then hold the big button on your iPhone and speak. Let go to paste.

While you hold the button

• Release in the middle to paste on your Mac.
• Drag up, then release, to paste and press Return.
• Drag down to save the words as a Note on your iPhone instead. Notes are never pasted.
• Drag left to cancel. Nothing is sent or saved.
• Tap once to start hands-free, and tap again to send.

If something doesn't work

• The iPhone can't reach the Mac. Keep both on the same Wi-Fi network and make sure Yakity-yak is open on the Mac. On the iPhone, check Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. Away from home, you can connect both devices with Tailscale.
• Words don't appear. Click into a text field first. On the Mac, check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility for Yakity-yak. The words also stay on the Mac's clipboard, so ⌘V pastes them.
• Start over. Use Settings → Set Up Again on the iPhone, or Connection → Run Setup Again on the Mac.
